The General Dynamics Land Systems and Marshall Canada team will deliver more than 1,000 light trucks and approximately 500 heavy trucks with associated equipment, such as armoured protection kits, modules, containers and trailers.<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5773 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gdlscanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/LVM_Trailer-300x158.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"488\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gdlscanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/LVM_Trailer-300x158.png 300w, https:\/\/www.gdlscanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/LVM_Trailer-1024x539.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.gdlscanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/LVM_Trailer-768x404.png 768w, https:\/\/www.gdlscanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/LVM_Trailer-18x9.png 18w, https:\/\/www.gdlscanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/LVM_Trailer-538x283.png 538w, https:\/\/www.gdlscanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/LVM_Trailer.png 1077w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Logistics Vehicle Modernization (LVM) project is being awarded as two contracts: one for vehicle acquisition, valued at $1.5 billion (including taxes), and one for in-service support, valued up to $1.08 billion (including taxes) over 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>General Dynamics Land Systems will be responsible for integration and support services throughout the life of the LVM project and is joined by a team of four other industry leaders: Marshall Canada, an aerospace and defence solution provider; Mercedes\u2010Benz (Daimler Trucks), a longtime supplier to the Canadian Army with more than 120 years\u2019 experience designing and manufacturing trucks for militaries globally; Soframe, recognized for its expertise in the protection of military users; and Manac Inc., Canada\u2019s largest and most diverse trailer manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGeneral Dynamics Land Systems believes collaboration with our global customers and industry brings the most capable solutions to Soldiers, and this Power Team is designed to deliver unique and reliable capability,\u201d said Dave Paddock, President of General Dynamics Land Systems. \u201cWe are known for our innovative engineering, extensive manufacturing and integration capability, and unparalleled customer support.\u00a0 We look forward to delivering the LVM capability to the Canadian Army.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Power Team\u2019s solution for the LVM project starts with the Mercedes Zetros truck, a powerful and versatile platform designed to provide the CAF with reliability, durability and ruggedness under the most adverse climate and operational conditions. Featuring a common chassis with more than 90 percent commonality across all variants of the CAF\u2019s new logistics fleet, the Mercedes Zetros eliminates the need to support and maintain two different fleets.
